General Management for Young Professionals


The General Management programme provides young executives with a comprehensive insight into all processes and procedures within a company, with the individual modules covering the most important core subjects of business economics. The application-oriented and practical course content enables the participants to think strategically and conceptually, in order to introduce and to apply this newly acquired knowledge directly in their company. The programme is also a great fit for company founders, who want to implement their business idea and aim for a systematical set up of their company. Please note: the programme is taught in German.

 

Topics

Among the areas of leadership, essentials of management and innovation & change, the General Management programme will launch strategies for value-based management. In this connection, participants will learn more about options for a sustainable execution by using well-founded leadership skills. The programme also deals with the current paradigm shift in marketing and management to offer a better understanding of it and to consequently derive implications for successful entrepreneurial activity.

Furthermore, the programme offers a compact but extensive introduction to the field of innovation & change. Using practical examples and experience reports, it will illustrate how innovative processes and products can be integrated into your own company. In the area of supply chain management, it develops methods to answer questions regarding the selection of suppliers, the accompanying costs and the need to optimise inventory levels.

Participant of the General Management Programme, who additionally want to obtain solid basics in finance, have the option to additionally book the module „Finance for Non-Financial Managers“.

Professor for general business administration, corporate development and organisation, University of Cologne

Since 2004 Prof Ebers has been the chair for general business administration, corporate development and organisation at the University of Cologne. 1993 he qualified as a professor at the University Mannheim. From 1994 to 2004 Ebers was holding the chair for business administration with focus on management and organisation at the University Augsburg. During this period, he was appointed by several European institutions. Additionally, he functioned as visiting professor at several universities in Europe and North America, including the Harvard Business School (2002).
