Digital Insurance Transformation


Regulation on the corona situation – the programme and all seminars are scheduled as attendance events. Should the current situation continue, our seminars will be held as online classes.

The Certificate Programme Digital Insurance Transformation provides you with an overview of current technological trends, gives you tools to design your own digitalisation in an innovative and holistic way and shows how to implement it in your insurance company in an effective way. Please note: the programme is taught in German.

 

Topics

During the Digital Leadership & Business Innovation module you will receive an introduction to the topic of "Digital Transformation". It focuses on approaches that help insurance companies to react to the challenges of the ongoing digitalisation. Using powerful concepts and methods, you will develop ideas for designing innovative business models. In addition, the module will demonstrate how the development of a digital and innovative corporate culture can be promoted. Furthermore, the participants will get an overview of selected key trends, for example the Internet of Things.

In the Entrepreneurship & Digital Customer Experience module you will gain a detailed understanding of topics such as corporate entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and social entrepreneurship. The Digital Marketing module shows the importance of social media as part of a marketing strategy as well as today‘s relevance of influencer marketing for the insurance industry.

The Digital Technology, Sustainability & Ethics module shows you the ethical aspects and risks of digitalisation with regard to the use and processing of Big Data (Big Data Analytics instruments, Artificial Intelligence). In addition, sustainability aspects, such as the management of sustainability strategies, are addressed. Further, you will get an overview of the many possibilities that new InsurTechs offer insurance companies. Within this framework, participants of the programme will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with persons responsible for InsurTech start-ups.

Day 1 will deal with the topic of "Digital Transformation & Innovative Business Models", while Day 2 will explore "Digital Leadership & Innovation Management".

During the first part of this module you will gain an understanding of topics like Corporate Entrepreneurship, Intrapreneurship und Social Entrepreneurship.

The second part of this module will deal with the relevance of Social Media for marketing strategies and demonstrate how to use Influencer Marketing strategically.

Professor Schradin has been Managing Director of the Institute of Insurance Science at the University of Cologne since March 1999. There, he also holds the Chair of General Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance. His research focuses on risk management and value-based management of insurance companies as well as accounting and regulation of insurance companies.
